Long ago and far away
you gave me your heart
then you took it back
now I feel I must
conceal my deepest feelings
hide them from you
or I will only be a joke
you tell your next one
how can love simply vanish
and how can you believe
everything will not change
now that I know
your heart is not mine
how can I stop wondering
when you will find her
this one who is your true love
and when will I be your past
do you keep me by your side
fearing you might never
find her
that would be far too cruel
for me and for you
if I am not who you seek
there is no point
in playing at love
or something resembling it
